Barry Mack: Awakening in the Flow

Barry Mack’s art flowed as a visual language from early childhood. Expression through drawing and painting expanded during his formal education.

At 22, he began searching for answers to our biggest questions. He traveled the world in search of answers. What he found constantly fuels his work.

Through love, health and money challenges, painting was his way to communicate what felt real. He experienced the highs and lows of Life. From heartbreak and poverty to professional success, marriage and constant creative exploration, painting provided a powerful form of communication.

REVELATION

At 36, Mack experienced an Awakening, a “Flow” state, a revelation that had to be expressed through painting. It launched a career as an abstract artist.

Relentless practice of technical skills brought critical and commercial success. In 2001, he left a career in the graphic arts to pursue fine arts full time. In 2003, his work began to appear in private and corporate collections.

Mack’s art hangs in collections in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Miami, Dallas, Santa Fe, Portland, Duluth, UK, Canada, Italy, Uruguay, Australia and Nepal. Corporate collections include the Beverly Hall Corporation, Meriweather Group and Schnitzer Steel in New York.

Mack lives and works in Manhattan and East Hampton, New York.
