Transfiguration is the theme of our entry for the Portland Winter Lights Festival

Energy is high as work progresses on "Crystalis," our entry for this year's Portland Winter Lights Festival. "Crystalis is about transfiguration and rebirth. The 3D illusion is created by superposing projected images onto etched acrylic wings. It is a conceptual narrative addressing emergence and change as a new way of seeing; a new consciousness. The emerging light that radiates from within and from multiple points of focus suggests that over time new life births new human nature; that life as we see it isn’t static but ever-evolving.

Jillian St. Germain of Bodyvox has joined our team as the dancer whose video image will come to life within the shower of light and smoke. The ghost-like apparition is neither solid nor transparent, real or unreal. The viewer’s experience reassembles the light and movement into a recognizable image.

"Crystalis" was created for the Portland Winter Light Festival by Eichinger Sculpture Studio and Koble Creative to engage viewers and spotlight the creative power of collaboration. Details on the actual location to come soon. The Portland Winter Light Festival will be February 7-9.
