Bodies in motion.
The Dance series celebrates the human body in motion, inspired by my fascination with choreography and its ability to convey ‘a sense of story, tragedy, mystery… not just the physical movement, but another power on top of it that makes it exciting.’ These sculptures explore exuberance, buoyancy, and the joy of being alive, capturing figures as if weightless and untethered to narrative constraints.

As Richard Speer writes in From the Heart: Sculpture by Martin Eichinger, this series showcases ‘an exceptional gift for idealizing the human form,’ presenting motion as both a formal celebration and a story in itself.
The book offers further insight into how this motif took shape during my time in Italy.
